Currently, I'm reading "She Got Up Off the Couch" by Haven Kimmel, an Indiana-born author who writes about growing up in the small town of Mooreland. Really funny -- and a follow-up to "A Girl Nmed Zippy." I recommend them both.
Recently finished Jen Lancaster's "Such a Pretty Fat," the third in a trilogy of HILARIOUS memoirs. My husband doesn't think she's all that funny but I think she's stealing my thoughts right out of my head. If I, too, lived in Chicago, I know she'd want to be my BFF.

In between new issues of "In Style" magazine, I've been reading "Rhett Butler's People." I didn't think anyone could do justice to a sequel (?)/prequel/parallel story to "Gone With the Wind," but Donald McCaig's Rhett is complex and commanding ... a great character with a solid storyline and blend to the "Wind" I love.

"This Charming Man" by Marian Keyes. Keyes has a knack for creating great three-dimensional female characters. She's Irish, so her stories generally take place in Ireland which makes opening her books like hopping a flight to Dublin on Aer Lingus. I love them. Next up, I'm tackling "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer...

The good thing about reading a book of newspaper columns or short stories is that you can also read other things and not lose your place.
While not yet having finished "Bad Dogs Have More Fun," I also was able to read "A Three Dog Life" by Abigail Thomas that is a memoir of her life after her husband is struck by a car and suffers a traumatic brain injury.
I just started "Such a Pretty Girl" by Laura Wiess yesterday and it's one that I cannot put down. It's just over 200 pages and I'll probably finish it before I fall asleep tonight.
I've got quite a pile still waiting so I plan to read, read, read as the weather changes and the fireplace comes on.

OK, so I'm apparently the only person reading around here. Time to turn off the TV, people.
I'm double-dipping again (triple-dipping if you count the fact that I still haven't completed "Bad Dogs" so it's still in my car in case of emergency).
For "fun," I'm reading "Hope's Boy," a memoir about the child foster care system and a boy's love for his mother by Andrew Bridge. I say "fun" because although it is a good book, the topic doesn't exactly lend itself to frivolity.
For self-improvement, I'm reading "Slaying the Giants in Your Life" by David Jeremiah.

I'm onto "Bad Dogs Have More Fun," which is a compilation of John Grogan's columns from the Philadelphia Inquirer.
For those who don't know him, Grogan wrote the best-seller "Marley and Me," which made me cry when I wasn't laughing out loud.
