1. Minnesota River Walk
Walk the scenic Minnesota River Trail and enjoy the beauty of autumn. Tour several historic buildings in the village of Eagle Creek. Enjoy an easel art activity with watercolors. Refreshments will be served at the Panorama Show (1 p.m. and 2 p.m.) in the Depot. Enter the park through the West Entrance. This event is appropriate for all ages.

2. Children’s Day at Grimm Farm
Be a pioneer farm family for a day in the 19th century Minnesota. Learn about the lives of German immigrants, tour the Grimm farmhouse, do traditional “chores,” meet live farm animals and try milking a “practice” cow. Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, pioneer games, playing in a haystack, making apple cider and a pioneer craft. Lunch made from Gale Woods Farm produce will be available.

3. Harvest Hoedown
An evening of fiddling, fun and farm-fresh food. Enjoy string band music and learn the basics of easy and fun family folk dancing. Take a wagon ride, meet the farm animals and explore the farm. Farm-raised concessions are available for an additional fee. This program is appropriate for all ages.

4. WILDLIFE WALK
Walk Refuge trails to search for birds and other wildlife as a new day begins. This outing involves several miles of walking trails at a slow pace. Dress for the weather, bring water, bug spray and birding gear. There will be a few extra binoculars to loan. The group will also learn bird and frog calls. Volunteer Refuge naturalists George Skinner and Anne Hanley will lead the program which is suggested for ages 7 to adult. Those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

5. LONE OAK DAYS
Rooted in Eagan’s agricultural traditions, this event includes displays of 1940s-era farm equipment, hayrides, pony rides, barnyard animals, music and hands-on experiences such as virtual cow milking and tractor rides.
